We Do Not Know What To Do, But Our Eyes Are On You!

Proverbs 3:5-6; II Chronicles 20:1-30

I. A Command: Depend fully on the Lord alone! (vs. 5a)

Psalms 20:6-7 “6 Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with the saving might of his right hand. 7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.”

II. A Warning: Do not depend fully on you! (vs. 5b)

Romans 11:33-34 “33 Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! 34 “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?”

Jeremiah 9:23-24 “23 Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, 24 but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.”

III. A Promise: The Lord directs those who depend fully on Him! (vs. 6)

Psalms 37:5 “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.”

Hebrews 12:1-3 “1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.
