God Always Does Things in the Best Possible Way

God’s infinite wisdom tells us that His actions could not be done in a better way than the way He is doing them right now nor could they be improved upon by one of His creatures with the limited amount of wisdom that we possess. We could never say to God, “You’re doing it all wrong” and impress Him with our superior wisdom and knowledge of the situation.

But our problem is that we don’t see things from God’s perspective. We see the world through our limited knowledge that is clouded by sin.

James 3:14-16 describes what happens when we try to superimpose our “wisdom” over God’s.

Verse 14, “¹⁴But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. ¹⁵This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. ¹⁶For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.”

We often question why God does things the way he does them. We are quick to blame God for when things don’t go our way and we’re slow to decide that God might know how to do things better than we do. We often question God’s wisdom. When we think that God is not wise and do things our own way, it creates a huge problem. An unbiblical method might be shrewd and it might get the job done, but these kinds of methods are not based on truth and are therefore very dangerous.

Pastor Mark Stafford served on staff at Canyon Bible Church of Prescott Valley for almost 6 years. He and his wife, Lara, felt called to church planting and Canyon of Prescott Valley sent them to plant a new Canyon Bible Church in the Verde Valley.
